MOHAWK CANOE CLUB PADDLING AWARDS
The following are the various awards presented by the Mohawk Canoe Club and
the criteria for earning them.
500 Mile Award
Presented to Governing Members of the Mohawk Canoe Club who paddle
500 miles or more within a calendar year. Mileage from canoe trips
sponsored by other canoe clubs is eligible toward your Mohawk Canoe Club
500 Mile Award metal.
400 Mile Award
Presented to Cruiser Members of the Mohawk Canoe Club
who paddle 400 miles or more in a calendar year.
Mileage from canoe trips sponsored by other canoe clubs
is eligible toward your Mohawk Canoe Club 400 Mile Award metal.
300 Mile Award
Presented to Cruiser Members and Governing Members of the Mohawk Canoe Club
who have earned a 400 Mile Award medal or a 500 Mile Award medal and who
paddle 300 miles or more in a calendar year. Mileage from canoe trips
sponsored by other canoe clubs is eligible toward your Mohawk Canoe Club
300 Mile Award. There is no limit to the number of 300 Mile Award bars
an individual can receive. The 300 Mile Award is a bar that can be affixed
to your 400 Mile Award medal or 500 Mile Award medal.
Delaware River Award
Any Cruiser or Governing Member who paddles all sections of the
Delaware River between Hancock, NY to Trenton, NJ (198 miles) in a
calendar year is eligible for the Mohawk Canoe Club Delaware River Award.
There is no limit to the number of Delaware River Awards an individual
can receive. You do not have to paddle the entire river in one trip
you can do it a section at a time over the course of a calendar year.
The Delaware River Award is a patch that can be sewn on your shirt,
jacket, hat, etc.
Trip of the Month Award
The Trip of the Month Award is presented to any Cruiser or Governing Member
who participates in any six trips designated as
Trip-of-The-Month. Trips of the month are those trips and activities
on the activity schedule with an asterisk. A list of the Trips-Of-The-Month
can be found in the annual schedule. The Trip of the Month Award is a patch
that can be sewn on your shirt; jacket, hat, etc.
Kayak Award
The kayak award will be given to kayakers who paddle at least
15 trips in the given year. Any trip of 7 miles or more will count.
The Kayak Award is a patch that can be sewn on your shirt; jacket, hat, etc.
White Water Award
The whitewater award will be given to those who paddle either
canoe or kayak on either 15 class II trips or 10 class III
trips or any combination of class II and III that works out
where the number of trips times the class of water equals 30
or more(i.e., 15X2=30, etc.). The White Water Award is a patch
that can be sewn on your shirt; jacket, hat, etc.
