MOHAWK CANOE CLUB PADDLING AWARDS

The following are the various awards that Mohawk Canoe Club Members can earn and the criteria for earning them. Note that any paddling trip (not just Mohawk CC trips) count towards your Mohawk CC award. Awards will be presented at the Mohawk CC Annual Dinner in January. Check this page for more information on applying for Mohawk CC awards.

500 MILE AWARD MEDAL

Presented one time to Members of the Mohawk Canoe Club who paddle 500 or more miles within a calendar year. Pictured is the 500 mile medal with 300 mile bars attached.

400 MILE AWARD MEDAL

Presented one time to Members of the Mohawk Canoe Club who paddle 400 or more miles in a calendar year.

500 MILE AWARD BAR

Presented to Members of the Mohawk Canoe Club who have previously earned a 400 Mile Award Medal or a 500 Mile Award Medal and who paddle 500 or more miles in a calendar year. There is no limit to the number of 500 Mile Award Bars an individual can receive. The 500 Mile Award is a platinum colored bar that can be affixed to your 400 or 500 Mile Award Medal.

300 MILE AWARD BAR

Presented to Members who have previously earned a 400 Mile Award Medal or a 500 Mile Award Medal and who paddle 300 to 499 miles in a calendar year. There is no limit to the number of gold colored 300 mile bars you can receive. This bar can also be attached to your 400 or 500 Mile Award Medal.

DELAWARE RIVER AWARD PATCH

Presented to any Member who paddles all sections of the Delaware River in a calendar year beginning in Hancock, NY, and ending in Trenton, NJ (198 miles). You can paddle the river a section at a time over the course of the calendar year and the sections can be done in any order. There is no limit to the number of Delaware River Patches you can receive.

DELAWARE/RARITAN CANAL AWARD PATCH

Presented to any Member who paddles all navigatable sections of the Delaware/Raritan Canal in a calendar year beginning at Bulls Island State Park, Raven Rock, NJ and ending at the Meadows Foundation, Somerset, NJ. You can paddle the canal a section at a time over the course of the calendar year and the sections can be done in any order. There is no limit to the number of Delaware/Raritan Canal Patches you can receive.

WHITE WATER AWARD PATCH

Presented to any Member who paddles either a canoe or kayak on 15 class II trips or 10 class III trips or any combination of class II and III where the number of trips times the class of water equals 30 or more (i.e., 15X2=30, etc.).
